To all of those posting methods for downloading our old posts, I want to thank you. I ran the kinja archive master this afternoon and I’m pretty happy with the results. It’s hard to believe that I’ve written 647 posts over the last five years! OK, so perhaps that isn’t the most productive record, but I’m happy that I’ve been able to save my writings in perpetuity! So again, thank you for making that possible!

Interesting...I’ve always regarded anything I post on Oppo/Kinja as ‘disposable’. If it does then the writing dies too. After all, without Oppo/O&E, little of my writing has any consequence or context.

Yeah me too, but I never do reviews or anything, just whatever’s on my mind at the moment and I don’t post all that much anyways, so it wouldn’t really matter in another  context. But obviously a lot of people put tons of effort into some of their work and it's great they can save it.

As I get older, I value the opportunity to look back and see where I was and what I was thinking. Although much of my writing is inconsequential, it’s neat to see special moments which have been memorialized in some way by being recorded here.

My sneak is that anything I write here that I think might be of personal value...I write in a Word file first...

I’m glad my tool worked well for you. It seems the mad scramble to make that happen may have been unnecessary, but frankly that’s a win too.
